This is probably the most majestic and massive building of the newly founded Predappio.
The growing importance of Mussolini in Italy’s political life made Predappio the destination for real pilgrimages to his native house and his parents’ graveyards. Thus, a building was needed, both as a symbol of the newly born regime, and as a welcoming center and residence for the visitors. In 1926 a gathering of funds was started for the construction of the building, but the works were delayed for many reasons. The construction only started n 1934, and in 1937 the building was opened.
The majestic body of the building, located at the crossing between the two main roads of the town, is made up of bricks and travertine and there is a massive littoria tower that resembles the ancient medieval towers.
