Founded by general Eremia Grigorescu in 1895, Chimopar (Dudești Chemical Enterprise) is one of the oldest Romanian chemical companies and used to be one of the main producers of gun powder and other special chemicals in Romania.
Along the years, it was damaged by two earthquakes and by an explosion (1904/1923).
The Communist Regime made the complex bigger, but the company was privatized after 1989, when most of Romania’s industry collapsed. Nowadays is a heaven for street artists, photographers and air-soft teams.
