The Banti sanatorium is a hospital building in the municipality of Vaglia. It was built between 1934 and 1939, and it is a wonderful example of the combination of well measured stereometry, soft classicism and a sober Mediterranean soul that charcterizes many of the architectural interventions of the Fascist era. The functional and rational aspect is emphasized by the strong contrast between the hills and forests of the surrounding landscape and the geometric purity of the forms and the structure, making this building one of the most interesting in the architecture of Tuscany between the wars.
